"Most Fantastic Hotel" This is one of the most fantastic hotels we have ever stayed in. The rooms all have a sea-view, some rooms are so close to the sea it almost feels like you are on a cruise liner. everything about this hotel is perfect I could not find one fault. The views are breath-taking, it's location is great, peaceful, away from the busy centre of Marseille, but only a bus ride to the centre, which stops outside the hotel. The staff are very friendly, the service is great. We visit this hotel twice a year.

"Excellent views, incredible bed, nice suite" This is my second review of this hotel, however this time we chose to splurge for a suite. I decided to make my reservation directly with the hotel so that I could find out a bit more about the suites. Unfortunately the person taking the reservation was clueless about the suites and had to put me on hold to answer every question I had. This was a bit annoying but they were very apologetic and polite. At checkin, there was no mention of us being in a suite and it is not indicated on the door to the room, however we were indeed in a suite. The hotel was beautiful as usual and seemed to have been freshened up a bit since my last stay which was needed. The staff was excellent and accomidating. Again we were not met at the door to take our luggage. They seem to only have one person to handle that as well as valet parking. The food was a bit of a disappointment this time. Room service was good put prices have risen reducing the appeal. The restaurant food seems to have gone down hill to me. We ate there once and I was a bit underwhelmed. It was the same menu that they have had for 3 years now but the quality of the food was not the same. Breakfast is still excellent and the dining room is beautiful. Sit on the terrace for magnificient views if weather permits. I recommend dining at Miramar on the Vieux Port (---- ). I had one of the finest meals I have ever had there. The service was outstanding and the staff was welcoming and efficient without being overbearing. The hotel bar is still appealing and the barman is familiar with many international drinks. The suite was roomy with a living area and separate bedroom. The bed in the suite is a sofitel MyBed and is a king. It is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The living room is furnished with very modern high end furniture. I liked the furniture so much I located the brand online and found out that the couch was over 3,000 euros. Yikes! Bath products are Roget and Gallet and the towels are thick and robes are large and comfortable. The bathroom had a seperate shower and tub. Our suite had a balcony but I am under the impression that not all do so you may want to ask. Check my photos for a better idea of the suite. This was my 5th time and this hotel and I continue to be satisfied and can recommend it for those visiting Marseille with a car. It is a bit far afield for those dependant on public transportation but it does have a bus line that stops right out front though I never tried it.
