"Great Location"
The Mascotte Marseille Vieux Port Hotel is in an excellent location. It is situated at the bottom of La Canabiere, right next to the harbour. After booking the hotel, I had heard of reports recommending tourists to avoid La Canabiere but I can only assume they meant a lot further up this long street as this location was ideal. It was right next to the lovely cafe's and bars overlooking the port area and we felt safe at all times. The room itself was ok in size but could probably have done with a lick of paint and a new carpet but was still perfectly acceptable for a short stay. There isn't a bar in this hotel but this wasn't a problem as the hotel is well situated for bars. We paid approximately £60 per night through expedia and feel this was good value for money. If you are after a fancy hotel then this isn't for you but if you are looking for a clean, basic hotel in a truly excellent location, then this is the one. Have fun! Save this review

"Excellent Location- Great Staff"
Excellent Location. Great Staff, very helpful and spoke Englilsh if needed no problem. This was my first trip to Marseille and this hotel made it very easy. Right across from Vieux Port Metro stop and maybe 100 meters to the port. Very clean and a Great Value. Many cafes and bars and retail shops in immediate area. No need to look for the center of things because you are already there. I'd go back.

"Great location & Great view"
Location of this hotel is great. Staff are friendly but do not expect too helpful comparing to the Asian hotel. View is great as our room is the ones with balcony overlooking the old port. Cleaning service is not that good as we found that they did not clean our carpet in between our stay, although it's two days only. Taken some pictures from our room. You may click for a look.
